LEGALIZATION

The process of legalization certifies the authenticity (validity) of any document issued in the Republic of Bulgaria, and liable to legalization.
The legalization is performed by „Consular affairs“ office at the Ministry of foreign affairs, and additionally by the respective Ministry as per the type of the certified document.
The terms for legalization are three:
– normal
– fast
– express
as they depend strictly individually on each separate document.

Documents issued by various countries for Bulgaria are also liable to legalization.
Documents, coming from Member states of the Hague convention of 05 October 1961, have to have the so called Apostille stamp.
Documents coming from other states need to bear a stamp of their Ministry of foreign affairs.
Documents not falling into the both cases above, should bear a stamp of the Republic of Bulgaria in the respective state.
